APRIL 4, 2021 - THE THIRD SUNDAY OF THE GREAT FASTS. THE CROSS-WORSHIP
(Mark 8: 34–38; 9: 1)
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me ”
Being a Christian means more than dogmatically belonging to Christianity. Believing in Jesus means more than what these words say. It means the following: that you put yourself in Him; that you make Him your heart; that you have a moment, a second, in your life where you have truly met Jesus.
As long as you have not yet denied yourself, you will remain a dried well. And once you have denied yourself and consecrated yourself to Jesus, He will turn you into a well of living water. Basically, you experience the freedom of the mind. "The truth will set you free."
Man's true affliction resides in the fact that he does not fully succeed in manifesting his own being, that he is troubled by his own ego and wastes his time with petty things.
But I say: Divine Providence knows our decision. Whoever wants to follow Jesus and be as He, must be like Him with regard to the cross, and, as far as human nature permits, so it will be!
